It was devastating to learn that Anne is no longer with us.

I first met Anne in 1968, and soon learned that she was a genuinely good person who unselfishly shared her kindness with others, including many disadvantaged members of the human race. Throughout her life her generosity of spirit helped to make the world a better place for others.

Anne had a little known adventurous side – she was a delightful companion of mine and accompanied us upon several hiking, skiing, and even a few rock climbing trips. It was a pleasure to share her company.

I won’t forget you, Anne. I hope you are now in a wonderful place where you are surrounded with all the love that you can hold in your heart.

    Dear Mary, Kathrine and Roy,

As young children we lived up the street (Heywood) from you and spent many hours at your house. You were the only other family who all slept in one room as we did in our house on Heywood Ave. Linda and I remember Anne very well and she was indeed a gentle soul. Please know we are thinking or you and your family at this time.

Anne was indeed a gentle soul.

I remember her keen interest in the mosaic tile history of Victoria, in the social conservative policies of the now-defunct Unity Party of B.C., in preserving Saint Anne’s Academy and Beacon Hill Park and in the local history of Victoria’s pioneer families, particularly those buried in Ross Bay Cemetery.

I would sometimes find her tending her own family plot when I was down at Ross Bay cleaning up our own Hartnell family plot which is close by.

    God bless her soul.
