Arnold passed away peacefully on October 2, 2017, in Victoria, B.C. He was born in Hiiumaa, Estonia on August 22, 1924. As an avid contractor, his body endured years of physical demands leading to his myriad of health challenges in his golden years.

Predeceased by his wife, Elynor in 2011, Arnold is survived by his three daughters, three granddaughters, one grandson and two great-grandsons. He also left his best friend, his little dog Mooshoo.  Arnold will be missed by many relatives in the Toronto, Ontario area and in his beloved homeland, Estonia.

Arnold and Elynor married in 1950 after a long-distance proposal between Canada and Sweden. They moved across Canada and decided to settle in Victoria, B.C. where they raised their three daughters.

Arnold was a skilled contractor and built many beautiful homes in the Greater Victoria area as well as in Comox, B.C.  When he retired, his focus returned to Hiiumaa, Estonia, where he built his last home.  Arnold was very proud designing and building this home because it was built on the farmland where he was born.  Arnold spent winters in Victoria, building cabinet doors in his garage.  In the summer, he would pack his tools and the items he built into reinforced suitcases. Arnold and his beloved Elynor would spend summers in Estonia building their summer home.  He took pride in welcoming his friends and family living in Estonia to his new farmhouse.  The summer afternoons were filled with music, dancing and laughter.

Arnold and Elynor spent more than 60 years together dancing and exploring foreign lands.  Now, we take comfort in our faith that they are dancing together again in eternal joy.

A Celebration of Arnold’s Life will be held at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 3787 Cedar Hill Road, Victoria, B.C. V8P 3Z4 on Saturday, October 14th at 12:30 pm, refreshments will be offered. At 3:00 pm, everyone is invited to attend the graveside service at Royal Oak Burial Park, 4673 Falaise Drive, Saanich, B.C. V8Y 1B4.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to honor Arnold Napp to the B.C. Cancer Agency, 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, B.C. V8R 6V5.
