Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 7, 1932, Claire passed away on December 1, 2016 at the age of 84 years. She moved to Victoria, BC in the early 1950’s and lived most of her life there. Predeceased by her son James (1966) and husband Laurie (1997), she leaves her three children, Richard, Cindy (Searle), Sandi (Munro); her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed, especially by her closest friend Eleanor (Sis), Donna and Judith.
Claire was a homemaker and also worked as an apartment manager for many years at the Casa Del Mar and Casa Del Grande apartments in Victoria, BC. She was a hard worker and her kindness and generosity were known to many, making her well-loved.
Although Alzheimer’s gradually took Claire from us, she still maintained her caring and concerned nature, as well as her quirky sense of humour.

No formal service will be held but if so desired memorial remembrances may be made to the BC Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of your choice.

Auntie Claire. I’m saddened to learn that you have passed but I’m comforted knowing you’re with your best friend, my grandmother Laura Murphy. Thank you for all you did during that difficult time and for just being such an important part of our lives. MacKenzie is 21 now and she’s an absolute dream. You would have loved her. We live and miss you so much. Till we meet again.
