Clive McCallum Piercy of Victoria, BC, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 17, 2017 at home with his wife Ann, by his side.

Survived by his wife Ann; his two sons Scott (Sandi) and Ryan (Eugenia); his two step-children Caroline Creighton (Blair) and Charles Creighton (Michelle); his 12 grandchildren Samara, Saisha, Sela, Alejandro, Esteban, Daniel, Adrian, Marianne, Brianna, Matthew, Kiera, Caelan and his brother Richard.

Clive was born in Singapore in 1936 and was evacuated with his mother and brother at the age of 6 when his father was imprisoned.  Their journey took them to Australia and on through the U.S. to Victoria, BC where they were all eventually reunited in 1946.

Those who knew Clive will remember his unique and enthusiastic character as well as his entrepreneurial and philanthropic achievements.  The examples extend from the early development projects shared with his close friends and partners of Park Pacific, to his generous support of many worthwhile causes including his gift to the Aberdeen Seniors Health Centre and his continuous support of the Pacific Opera and Victoria Symphony.

Clive was passionate and devoted to his large family, which included all of his employees. His favorite pastimes included fishing and travel, which he and Ann enjoyed extensively over the years.  He wanted to leave his community better than he found it, which he honored through many of his endeavors, including his proud long-term ownership of the Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites.

His impact on the city of Victoria will be felt for many years to come.

A Celebration of Clive’s Life will be held at the Victoria Golf Club at 5:00 pm on Monday, November 20, 2017.
