Elsie passed away peacefully in Oak Bay Lodge, Victoria, on July 17, 2017.  She was predeceased by her first husband, John Hess in 1966, and her second husband, Chris Haire in 2008.  She leaves behind her daughter, Elizabeth (Paul), grand-daughters Kelly and Alison (Dave) and great-grandsons James and Ryan; as well as a large step-family.

Elsie lived a long and full life – she loved sports (golf, bowling, curling), square dancing, going on seniors’ bus trips and playing many kinds of games.

Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of #1 Dogwood at Oak Bay Lodge for their compassionate care of Elsie these past 4 ½ years.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017, 1.30 pm at the Garden Chapel at Royal Oak Burial Park, followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada, 276 – 2950 Douglas Street, Victoria, BC  V8T 4N4.
