It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Evelina Felicetta Reda.

Evelina was predeceased by her husband Frank Reda, brothers Elmo and Pasquale and sister Ida. She is survived by her three sons, Louie (Pat), Claudio (Shirley), Joe (Rose); 8 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters; her sisters Laura, Onorina, and brother Orfeio and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelina was born in Carolei, Italy. She and her first son immigrated to Canada on December 14, 1953, arriving in Halifax to start her journey across the country by train. She was on her way to join her husband and plant family roots in Victoria, BC.  The family grew and Evelina made many friends and memories. Evelina was a strong and hard-working woman. She cooked thousands of meals and brought love and guidance to her family and friends alike. She was always willing to lend a hand and give to those in need. She worked countless hours on her family farm on Mann Avenue and her tenacity and work ethic could be appreciated right to her last days.

Prayers will be offered at McCall Gardens 4665 Falaise Drive on Monday, August 21 at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church, 4049 Gordon Head Road at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 22, 2017, with entombment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency.
