With deep sadness, we announce the passing of a truly wonderful woman, who was raised, along with her four brothers, in James Bay by her parents John and Dorothy Callow.  Doris was born in Victoria, BC on March 8th, 1923 and passed away on February 21st, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband Harling Glover (1967), daughter Linda Glover (1955), daughter Cathy (Glover) Riley (2005) and husband Bernie Garrett (2003). She is survived by her loving daughter Lori Langford; brother Bob (Ann) Callow; grandchildren Christina, Steven (Justine), Brandi (Cody), Chris (Michelle) and Ryan; great grandchildren Jamie, Emma, Troy, Kayden, Kayley, Darius and Draeden, as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Doris was employed at the Medical Services Plan for 20 years, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Trafalgar/Pro Patria Branch #292, and Monterey Seniors Centre where she was very involved with the knitting and crafts group and bead club – she treasured all the friends she made there.  Doris made beautiful paper tole pictures and she would be lost without her knitting needles – creating beautiful blankets and other treasures for us all.

Doris  love and dedication was always there for her family and she will be missed more than words can express.  Rest in peace – you are now free of all worries.

A memorial service and reception will be held on March 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation,  #106 – 1001 Cloverdale Avenue, Victoria, BC V8X 4C9

Doris was always so kind and treated her daughters’ friends so well. I’m saddened with her passing.

My mom and I (Millie) are still expecting Doris to be sitting in the same spot in the lounge at Rose Manor with her knitting needles going. She made such beautiful toys, blankets, etc. for her family and charities.

Doris was a very kind and motherly person always worrying about others. Her family was everything to her, always speaking about them with such love and pride.

Doris was a very bright woman and had an incredible memory even at her advanced age.

You are free now Doris and we will miss you….
