As a postscript to my earlier condolence. Our three year old ‘Melvin’ asks “Where is Guilhermina?” and looks quite sad when we tell him she will not be visiting any more. Hard for a three year old to understand the passing of someone dear. Willie will be sorely missed in our family, however Jack her loving husband continues to be a bright light with us. God Bless you Guilhermina! We miss you very much.

Willie, you are truly missed by your friends and acquaintances at the Royal Canadian Legion in Esquimalt! You always had a big smile of happiness and excitement when you came to Dance.
We will miss your Christmas cookies and will remember you lovingly every time we look at the cookie tin!
Condolences to Jack and your family.

From your loving husband John (Jack) Wannamaker (Oct.29\17)
My Dearest Guilhermina, I am so sorry I haven’t been able to pay tribute to you till now. I miss you so much I am unable to think clearly. I truly had a glorious 22+ years with you by my side. I shall always remember when we first met and tried to dance (failed). We gradually became excellent untrained dancers. We established our own dance steps to the beat of the music and came close to winning dance contests on cruise ships. One contest came down to us and 1 other couple, but they won.
We went on 23 cruise ships and numerous other short & long term stays throughout the globe (Hawaii, Europe, Russia, Panama Canal, Turkey, Rome, etc.). Wille really enjoyed seeing the Vatican and Pope John Paul in his entombment. Also went to Mother Mary’s last home in the Turkish mountains. Many trips to the Azores to see her sister Isaltina & her favourite nephew Emanual, his wife Guida and their girls. I will savour these memories for the rest of my life. My darling, may you rest in peace until I may join you once again.
    All my love Jack.

To Jack and Guilhermina’s family. It is with much sadness that our dear friend ‘Willy” has left us so unexpectedly! Willy loved to dance at the Esquimalt Legion with her devoted husband Jack Wannamaker almost every Saturday. We enjoyed the many times Willy and Jack came to our home to celebrate Thanksgivings, Christmas, birthdays and anniversaries and the several times we were invited to lovely Portuguese dinners at their condo. Both Willy and Jack were devoted to each other and enjoyed many cruises, holidays and outings together. Willy is sadly missed by our family and especially her adopted grandson Melvin whom she loved so dearly. God Bless you Willy and may you find happiness in the beyond.

Thoughts and Prayers to you and family. Hold all “Special memories” of Mom, Grandma close to your hearts.
May God give you strength to carry on.

Many funny memories have come to me over the past week of the fun we had between your home and our home on McRae Ave. Just thinking of your Mom giving Hank a Christmas present that he had to unwrap from a big box down to a tiny one (about 15 times) which drove him nuts. Then the time I was trying to teach your Mom to drive when I could not understand any Portuguese and she could not understand much English. Somehow she made it and got her drivers license. Then there were many laughs between your Mom and Hank as he built a room or two in your basement. (I think there were some not so many funny things that went on there as well: like when Guilhermina cleaned up after Hank had done the ceiling and then he had to redo it (or something like that). The camping trips Mom took you to in Parksville were a hoot!
I am sure there are many more funny things that happened over the years and I hope you will enjoy the memories.
Love and best wishes to all, Kathy, Shannon, and Kevin de Bruin
