Born in Chester England on September 20th 1917, Hetty passed away peacefully on March 9th 2017. She was predeceased by her husband Donald in 1982 and is survived by daughter Bonnie Connorton (Mike), granddaughter Tara Corcoran (D’Arcy), grandsons Kurt (Tash), Chad (Aleisha) and great grandchildren Angus, Maeve, Kiera, Avery and Phyfer.

She arrived in Victoria from Chester, England in 1927 and attended Oak Bay High School where she met her future husband Don. They spent many years boating in the Gulf Islands. After a long service at the Hudson’s Bay Company as a ledger keeper, she retired in 1983 and began her many travels. Volunteering at Santa’s Anonymous, Scottish dancing, family gatherings and lunch with friends were things she loved. Always fashionable, she was a fun loving lady and will be missed.

Special thanks to the Beacon ladies at Rose Manor and the staff at Glengarry for your compassionate care.

No service by request. A Celebration of Life to follow at a later date.

Seeing Hettie’s obit this morning in the paper brought back many long ago happy memories of time spent, as a child, together with her and Don on board the Bonnie Lynn out among the islands. Also laughter at Muffy and Harfey the animals and their antics. It is wonderful to hear she lived such a very long and happy life. Best regards, Bill
