After a progressive illness of COPD, Betty passed away as she wished to … quietly and in the familiar surroundings of her own home. Predeceased by Jack in 2005, Betty is survived by Patricia Keene, Brighouse, Yorkshire England and Robert McOuat, Glasgow, Scotland.

Born and raised in Brighouse, UK, she married Jack (John Taylor McOuat), the love of her life in 1956.  The McOuats immigrated to Canada in the late 1950’s and settled in Toronto where both were employed professionally.  Betty was a stylish, active lady.  She golfed, bowled, played bridge and started a book club, as she was an avid reader.  One of the highlights of Betty’s life was obtaining a Science degree from the University of Toronto as a mature student.

By her request, no service is being held but a gathering of friends will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 1878 Hillcrest Avenue to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to donate to the BC Lung Association in her name.
