After a long illness, John leaves behind Daphne, his wife of 64 years; sons John (Heather, granddaughter, Robyn), Thomas (wife Jackie, granddaughter Gemma) and Owen.

During WWII, John was a navigator on a Lancaster Bomber, Squadron 166 and received the DFM.  John is a graduate from Queens College, Cambridge.  He emigrated to Canada in 1952. He earned his PhD from McGill University and worked throughout North America as a geologist. Family will miss his sage advice.
