Joe died peacefully at home with his family around him. Born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, to Simon & Maura Fritz, Joe was the eldest of eight children, five of whom predeceased him. He outlived his wives, Doreen (d. 1968) and Elsie (d. 2014), and leaves behind his five children, Mike Fritz (Maureen), Maureen Crooks (Bob), Neil Fritz (Betty), Darlene Fritz (Phil), Allan Fritz (Elizabeth), and stepson John O’Connor. He is also survived by his two sisters, Maureena and Kathleen, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many extended family members.
A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., followed by interment at Royal Oak Burial Park.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Ted Rosenberg, Victoria Hospice and the Home and Community Care nurses.
