Dear family and friends, it is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden loss of our dear sister, Ann Wilson, on September 30, 2017 at age 62. Ann is survived by two sisters, Janice and Kate, her brother David (Gail), and six nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bob Whalen, brother Doug and parents David and Helene.

During her long career in the federal civil service, Ann lived in a number of provinces and cities, where she worked with numerous people and developed many life-long friendships. Ann retired after a long career due to medical reasons. She loved to take cruises and enjoyed travelling to other countries in the company of her closest friends. Ann helped many individuals and non-profit groups during her life and she was known as a very loving and kind person.

Ann loved her family and she enjoyed lifelong learning, her career in the reserves, and her career with the DND. She was also a long-term member of the Royal Canadian Legion. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her and held her close to their hearts. We will miss you always Mary Elizabeth Ann.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION ESQUIMALT, 622 Admirals Road, Esquimalt, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion, Wild Arc Animal Rehabilitation Centre, or Royal Canadian Sea Cadets (Admiral Budge) would be greatly appreciated.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

To the family of Ann Wilson- I was shocked to learn of Ann’s death. I live in the same building and knew her quite well. We would go to lunch together, and I took her to various doctor’s appointments. She was very kind and very appreciative and very enjoyable to be with. She worked very hard when she was President of the Strata, for which we are very thankful. I would like to offer sincere condolences to all her family. She cared for you all very much. I will truly miss her companionship.

I am sorry I cannot attend her celebration of life this Saturday, but will always remember with fondness.

My heart felt condolences go out to Ann’s family and friends. I worked at DND and met Ann through the Union work we did at the base. This is where Ann’s concerns for her fellow workers shone through. I enjoyed working with Ann and I know she will truly be missed.
