Norma May Gordon passed away peacefully in her sleep after 96 years of wonderful life.

Born March 26, 1920 in Wapella, Saskatchewan, Norma moved to Victoria in 1943 for schooling.  In 1946, she married Ernie Gordon from her hometown.  She is survived by her two sons, Dave (Debbie) and Don (Katrinka).  She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Melanie (Neal), Mike (Katie), Chelsea, Callum and her 5 great grandchildren.  Also, missing her warm and loving manner will be her neighbours on Hewlett Place.

Thanks to Dr. Mawdsley and Lin for their loving care and to her roommate Marguerite for being her guardian angel.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 2:30pm at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive in Royal Oak.

Norma had a life long love of animals – instead of flowers, please make a donation to BC-SPCA or WildARC.

“Auntie” Norma and my mother met in 1953 in the Royal Jubilee maternity ward as they delivered David and myself into the world. They became close lifelong friends, as did our families. I first rode a bicycle (David’s) on Hewlett Pl. So many childhood memories for myself and sister Linda. Our condolences to Dave and Don and families.

Condolence to the Gordon family st this sad time. My mom was Norma’s roommate at Selkirk Place. She had a great smile for everyone.

  • Jamie Dryburgh

Growing up right across the street (on Hewlett), I never saw Norma without a smile on her face and a cheery hello to every person she met. Even years later when I came back to visit, she was just the same: cheeful, pleasant and kind (and glamorous, did I mention that?!) Norma was a great friend and neighbour to my mom and our family; she’ll be long and fondly remembered.
