Patricia grew up in the English counties of Worcestershire and Staffordshire. In her mid-20s, she met David Lovewell, a young Methodist minister who dreamed of moving to Canada. Putting aside her reservations over emigrating, Patricia moved with him. Except for three years in Bermuda, their entire married life was spent in Canada, the last 30 years in Victoria. Throughout David’s ministry and then in retirement, Patricia was known for her unerring grace and kindness and for the special bond she and David shared.

She will be dearly missed by David, her son Mark, her daughter and son-in-law Rachael and Michael, her sister and brother-in-law Bridget and James Boyd and her extensive circle of family and friends, including members of St. Aidan’s United Church.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Aidan’s, 3703 St. Aidan’s Street, at 2 pm on Friday, October 6, 2017, with a reception to follow at the church.

Donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to St. Aidan’s.

Heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Geoff Luckhurst, Dr. Stefanie Green and the nurses and staff at Victoria Hospice for their loving care and kindness during Patricia’s recent illness.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Gwen and I will miss the wonderful laughter between mother and daughter drifting over the fence separating our yards. We have missed Dave’s ” It’s a glorious day” , and now we will the occasional short, wonderful and thoughtful, chats with Pat. We couldn’t have asked for better neighbours, even though we were on different streets. Our thoughts are with you Rachel, Mark ,Michael, and of course Dave. Condolences from our whole family.

  • Caren Helbing

My thoughts are with you tomorrow as you celebrate her life. I feel very privileged to have known her and have her as our neighbour. We will miss her very much. I will always remember her quick wit and humour!
I will give a nod to her birthplace as I am in London.
    Love Caren
