I am immensely saddened to hear of Philip’s passing, and pass my condolences to Nancy and the family. Philip was business partners with my father, Harry, in the ’80s, and I got to know him quite well. I absolutely adored him – anyone my father had such respect for was always Ok in my eyes! – and always enjoyed his humour and wisdom. I will always be immensely indebted to him for the wonderful heartfelt contribution he gave me towards my father’s eulogy back in 2011.

    Dear Nancy,
Norm and I were so sorry to hear about Philip’s passing; this really is the end of an era in Victoria for us and we’ll always remember our lovely luncheons at your home and his stories about the war. He was a delightful and memorable personality. Manuela phoned and told me about Philip, and I’m writing this from Vancouver where we’re spending a week with our daughters. We won’t be in town for the service but I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow and will phone when I get home. Sincere condolences, Marilynn and Norm

  • Andrew Charles (Chuck) Dunn

Dear Nancy and family, I wish to offer my condolences about your husband and tell you I have fond memories of his teaching me at UBC in the early 1960’s. He had a good sense of humor and his classes were delightful and entertaining. I am in real estate and saw Philip at some functions and enjoyed talking to him about real estate. Some teachers you never forget and He was one of them.
