It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving father, husband, grandfather and papa.  He passed away peacefully at home.  He leaves behind his loving wife Lynda of 57 years; daughters Brenda, Tami (Steve), Tracey, Vicki (Mike); two grandchildren, Rob and Shantyll (Jessey); great-grandson Brody; sister Yvonne; twin brother Jack (Wendy); sister Diane (John) and many nieces and nephews; predeceased by brother-in-law Elber.

Bob was a dedicated family man with a great sense of humour, a good provider.  His mischievous smile and infectious giggle will be missed.  He started work at a very young age and was still working on and off for people who needed him.  He was employed at UVIC in the Landscaping Department where he operated heavy duty equipment.  Bob went on as a heavy duty equipment operator working for Chew Excavating and many other construction companies.  He also worked for Carley Logging and Cougar Inlet Logging building roads for many years with heavy duty equipment and eventually drove logging trucks.

Bob belonged to the Operating Engineers 115 and I.W.A.  A member of Vancouver Island Model Engineers (V.I.M.E.).  People would see him out on the track running his train, “Big Blue”, which he built to take people for rides.

Bob also enjoyed attending truck shows in BC and AB with his 1988 Kenworth and participating in the Big Truck Christmas Parade every year.

A Celebration of Life will be held at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC, at 2:00 pm on August 10, 2017.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
