Passed away suddenly but very peacefully on November 30th, 2016 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria.  Kathy will be greatly missed by the many friends she had.  Kathy was a great friend and neighbor.  She would have her daily walks in the neighborhood and visit with everyone.  She is predeceased by her husband Sandy in 2012.  She was a great dog lover and dedicated many years to her wonderful loving Scotties.  She loved to garden and sing in the church choir and was an accomplished singer.  We will all miss her very much.

Many thanks to the hardworking nursing staff at RJH 7th floor North for all their kindness and care for Kathy.

No service by request.

Tributes if desired may be made to the SPCA.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Memories create beautiful warmth. I will always remember Kathy’s gentle smile and kind voice. Especially, her understanding when I would call with a Toastmaster question for Sandy and, after his death, our personal conversations and correspondence. Kathy, your light will always shine brightly in my heart.

A summer afternoon to remember when Sandy & Kathy visited – we had some natural herbal tea and spent time in my garden. I recall it was then Kathy’s face lit up as we named plants, discussed their growing habits and best care.
I suppose what struck me most was the obvious love and care Kathy and Sandy had for one another as they manoeuvred through the different settings in my yard. So often they touched hands, pointed to something of interest or steered one another with a guiding arm. As a third outside of this couple, I marvelled at their closeness and was inspired to take a picture. I looked for this picture as felt it captured the essence that was Kathy & Sandy. I may find it one day when I am not looking!
May Kathy rest in peace forever and ever as she joins Sandy in that promised heavenly place.

I delivered her meds monthly and always looked forward to our chats at the house. One summer day, she took me for a tour of the veggie garden on the side of the house and the backyard garden. She was a kind lady who I will always remember. She would stay in the window while I backed out of the driveway and wave goodbye.

I have known Kathy for so many years and will miss her so much. A very gentle lady, the epitome of kindness. Fiercely independent.
