Stan Douglass was born on March 5, 1944, to John and Lillian Douglass in Victoria, British Columbia.  He passed away suddenly from complications of surgery on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Victoria General Hospital. He was 73.

Stan attended high school in Prince Rupert and Terrace and went on to trade school in Burnaby, British Columbia. He married Mary Louise Le Grand on April 3, 1969. They had one son, Trevor.

Stan was a Journeyman carpenter and worked at many job sites in Victoria and Vancouver. He ended his career working for Saanich School District as a locksmith and glazier, retiring from the district in 2002.

In his earlier years, Stan enjoyed hunting and fishing with his siblings. He also enjoyed woodworking, painting, sketching and travelling.

Stan made his choice to serve the Lord at Prince George Convention in 1959 and stayed true to his vow until his passing.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Louise Douglass, of Victoria, British Columbia; his son and daughter-in-law, Trevor and Heidi Douglass, of Salem, Oregon; three grandchildren: Emily, Spencer and Donovan Douglass, all of Salem, Oregon; and a brother, Lloyd Douglass (and his Evelyn) of Black Diamond, Alberta; and five special nieces: Barbara, Laurie, Sherry, Linda and Heather. He also leaves a beloved brother-in-law John (and his Randi) Le Grand of Black Creek, nephew Mark Le Grand; niece Nicole Janssen and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Ruth (Don) Stroud, his sister-in-law Anna Genoe, a niece Cheri Genoe, and a nephew, Mark Douglass.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at SHORELINE COMMUNITY MIDDLE SCHOOL, 2750 Shoreline Drive, Victoria, BC.
