Trevor was born in Victoria on August 21, 1924, and passed away peacefully after a stroke on August 13, 2017.  He was the only child of Welsh immigrants and was always proud of his Welsh heritage.  He and his first wife, Marjorie visited Wales many times, and he always kept in touch with the Welsh side of his family.

He and Marjorie had no children themselves but were delighted to spend time with (and spoil) their numerous nieces and nephews.

Trevor joined the RCAF in World War II but it ended before he could enter into combat.  His last employment was with Customs and Immigration Services in Victoria which he thoroughly enjoyed.  Marjorie and he spent many enjoyable holidays camping, boating, and travelling in Europe.

After Marjorie passed away, Trevor was very fortunate to meet Fran whom he married in 2008.  They enjoyed a wonderful decade together sharing warm companionship.

Until the very end, he remained alert and interested in all his families – Marjorie’s and Fran’s.  He passed away with Fran holding his hand and Karen reading him the last chapter of his Jack Higgins book.  It was a peaceful death for a kind and generous man.

He is survived by his wife Fran (Westergaard), his 2 stepchildren Karen and Kirk and their families; also, many of Marjorie’s nephews and nieces; friends and family in Wales and Cornwall, UK.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to Dr. Peter Houghton who went far beyond that expected of a family physician, and to the nursing staff on 6B at the Victoria General Hospital.

Interment will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 at Hatley Memorial Gardens, followed by a 1:00 pm Memorial Service and reception at McCall Gardens Sequoia Centre, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.

Our most sincere condolences Fran. We were saddened to hear of Trevor’s passing. We have many happy memories of our ‘group’ get-togethers dining out and house visits afterwards.
    Sincerely, PEARL & DOUG JONES

  • James Pengilly & Family

The memories of the fun times, especially the many Christmases spent together, will be remembered fondly forever. Rest in peace Uncle Trevor.

  • Joan Wall

Trefor was an old-fashioned gentleman – in the best sense of the word. Rest in peace.

  • Joan Wall

It was a pleasure to know, however briefly, this fine gentleman. He had a sense of what was fitting, and loved a debate. May he rest in peace and may Frances know she gave him 10 years of love.
