Audrey passed away with her adoring family by her side on December 31, 2017 after a short battle with cancer.  Born on May 21, 1941 in Victoria, BC, she was the daughter of the late George and Muriel Scott-Polson.

Audrey is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Farey; brother Kenneth (Mary) and sister Charleen (Ted); children Wayne (Kimberly) and Wendy (Rob); grandchildren Tyson, Karli (Kip), Lukas, Rachael, Ariana, Graham, Desiree (Ben) and Jasmine; great-grandchildren Jaxson and Linden; and her Old-English sheepdog, Katie.

Audrey was a devoted wife, mother, and friend to many.  Those who knew her marvelled at the loving, watchful eye she constantly held on her husband, Ken.  Her nurturing and tireless work ethic oversaw a welcoming home where Ken and Audrey hosted neighbours and friends to many gatherings.  She loved her garden, time spent on Cordova Bay beach with her grandchildren, and boating for many years with wonderful friends in local and remote bays along the BC coast.

A Memorial Service for Audrey will be held at St. John the Divine Anglican church, 1611 Quadra Street, Victoria, BC on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency, 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC, V8R 6V5, or the Victoria Hospice, 4th Floor – Richmond Pavilion, 1952 Bay Street, Victoria, BC, V8R 1J8.

Ken, Wayne, Wendy and families I worked for Campbell Construction 1985 – 88 I remember your Mom coming to the office, always a friendly smile, very pleasant, dressed in the latest fashion. Ken’s face would light up upon her arrival as they chatted sometimes mentioning their children the pride on their faces was obvious. I remember a Christmas gathering at their Parker Avenue home a lovely evening with delicious treats Audrey had prepared. I was completely shocked and saddened to see Audrey’s announcement. I attended the very honouring and respectful memorial, all speakers did very well and Wendy’s eulogy was spoken with love and honor, very stoic and held her emotions without breaking.
My sincere condolences to each of you. R.I.P. Audrey

  • Shan and Geri O'Hara and family

We wish to express our condolences to Ken and family. Losing a loved one is never easy and I’m sure it’s even more difficult losing someone as special as Audrey. She was a wife,a mother,a grandmother,a sister, daughter and aunt, and I know was loved and respected by all. Although I only met her briefly,it was easy to recognize that she loved her life in all of those titles. I also know how loved and respected she was by the many conversations about her that I was privy to over the years. Hold dearly in your hearts her memory.

I can’t believe my sister is gone. She was so vital, so in control and the rock of our family.
Ken, she is your life and I dread the heartache you will now go through. Be strong, I am sure there will be many by your side.
Wendy and Wayne, I know the loss of the mother and it is unbearable.
Love to you Ken, Wendy and Wayne, Charleen

  • Bonnie & Tony Arnett

We didn’t know Audrey first hand but we certainly knew her and Ken through her younger sister Charleen and her husband Ted. They are dear friends. There were many wonderful boating encounters for all of them and they enjoyed every moment. Phil Barron built their beloved wooden boat on his property in East Sooke. Phil is our cousin by marriage. And so the circle goes…one knows another and the camaraderie and love envelopes more and more of us. We extend our deepest condolences and support to all of you.
