Our dear Mom, Mom in Law, Grannie and Great-Grannie Beryl passed away peacefully at Saanich Peninsula Hospital Extended Care, at the age of 103.
Beryl was born on the Isle of Wight, the only child of James and Miriam Clark. She was an enthusiastic and active student graduating from Putney High School, London UK. After graduation her first job was short-lived due to the outbreak of WWII. Beryl promptly signed up with the ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service) – women’s branch of the British Army, where she spent the duration of the war in London in various roles.
In London, Beryl met and married her Canadian Army Lieutenant husband of 60 years. Alexander (Sandy) on December 4, 1944. Beryl travelled via ship and train to reunite with Sandy in New Westminster, BC in the fall of 1945. Beryl and Sandy then moved to Victoria in the fall of 1946 where they raised their family in Cadboro Bay and Gordon Head. They were both active members of their community.
Beryl leaves to mourn her beloved family: Children: Jim (Cathy), Susan (David), Jason (Nicole) and Jonathan. Grandchildren: Cameron, Cory, Andrew, Caroline, Joe and Maya. Great-grandchildren: Kirra, Beckett, Eva, Winton, Ben, Matt and Sam.
Grannie Beryl’s strength, kindness, sense of humour and support of family were treasured by us all. She will be greatly missed.
No service at Beryl’s request.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Saanich Peninsula Hospital, Long Term Care unit.
To the Staff of SPH, our thanks knows no limits for all your special care and attention to our Mom, Grannie and Great Grannie.
And for those friends who knew, loved and considered her a second Mom please raise a glass in Beryl’s memory.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Patricia Fenwick Beryl was a lovely and gracious woman. I am privileged to have known her. She will be missed.
What a fabulous woman. She, along with Sandy, opened their home to me. The finest of the fine. She raised some incredible people as well. I’m sad to hear the news but I also smile with her memory. A true gem.
