Bik King  passed away peacefully at the age of 102 on April 27, 2018 at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Victoria, BC.  Bik King had 5 children: Fai Ha, Fai Lan, Kin Man (Thomas), Cheuk Man (Simon) and Wai Man. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, which includes 12 grandkids and 13 great grand kids.

Born June 25, 1915 in Hoi Ping, Guangdong, China, Bik King was the eldest daughter of 4 kids.  She married Yan Siu Chut in 1932 and became a widow in 1956.  She raised her kids all by herself and immigrated to Canada in 1973 with her 2 sons and 1 daughter.  She started working in a kitchen in Victoria, BC but not long after, she stayed home to help raise her grandkids.

Bik King was a strong and independent woman who enjoyed cooking, knitting, tending to her flowers and watching the great grand kids play. She was a dedicated member of the Victoria Chinese Alliance Church and enjoyed participating in the bible readings and singing.

Bik King’s family would like to thank the staff at Mount St. Mary’s for their care and support.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at the Royal Oak Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria Chinese Alliance Church.
