Dave passed away peacefully in his Metchosin home, surrounded by family, following a diagnosis of cancer. Born and raised in Victoria, BC, spending most of his youth in the Royal Oak area.
Dave had an avid love for his home, family, friends and pets. Being a mechanic was his passion, he put his mind to work devising and fixing a myriad of mechanical apparatus. He loved cars and racing, he loved to travel, and had a keen interest in environmental preservation and animal welfare. He was fascinated by all things weird and wonderful.
Predeceased by parents Stewart Lewis and Catherine Elizabeth Rosalie Cumberland and brothers Stewart Bruce and John Ross.
Survived by spouse Jean; daughters Stephanie; Mikala; Stacey (Ken); grand children Clay, Alisse, Keira and Hudson and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special thanks goes to Drs. R. O’Connor and D. O’Connell, and Stacey, Stephanie and Paul for their compassionate loving care given to Dave during his illness.
A Remembrance will be held on October 27th at 1:30 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive. Due to Covid 19 considerations, masks must be worn to the remembrance, and we kindly ask that all those attending be fully vaccinated.
Memories and anecdotes are especially welcomed. In lieu of flowers a donation to Wild Arc or the Victoria Hospital Equipment Lending Program (HELP) through the Canadian Red Cross is appreciated.
