It is with great sadness that we announce that our dear brother, Dean passed away peacefully in Victoria on November 27th, 2022.  Predeceased by his Mom, Helen Hoff and survived by his brothers, Barry, Brant & Clayton, his sister Heather, sister-in-law Sandra and his many & much loved nieces, nephews, & recently a grandnephew.

Dean will be so greatly missed, in particular because of his sharp wit and wicked sense of humour. Dean talked to everyone and took an interest in what they had to say and was always prepared to make you laugh. He was affectionately known as the Mayor of Allbay Road in Sidney. Gone far too soon, we suspect he is up there now teasing the angels and giving them a run for their money as only he could do! Dean loved the ocean and loved being outdoors, he was a born salesman & in fact, this was his chosen lifelong career.

A Celebration of Life is planned to be held in the spring of 2023, details will follow.

In lieu of flowers, kindly donate in Dean’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society https://cancer.ca

Wow, thanks to our mutual friend Rob Walker I learned of his passing. So sad. Yeah, he was a character. When we were kids he was in my cabin at summer camp. We didn’t get along at the time but later, got to know him real well. Not enough characters in life. He will be missed

So sad,….. So many fond memories. The entire room of any particular gathering would LIGHT up when Dean walked through the door.

Dean’s wit, his joy, his very infectious camaraderie would embrace any given mood in the form of a welcome distraction.

I can only pray and believe that our Lord is in need of Dean now. If only to shed his LIGHT over the darkness that seems to shadow so many us in this World today.

You WILL be missed, my brother. There is comfort though. Comfort in the thought that you’ll be back in Helen’s arms while sipping a nice cup of hot tea.

Rest in Peace. And thoughts and prayers to ALL the Hoff’s. Miss you !

    ❤️
