Gone far too soon from this world. Douglas passed away May 20, 2022. He is mourned by his loving parents Ronald & Betty-lou Rogers, his children Tajia Bella & Surya Kash Corrcione, sister Drusilla Rogers & nephews Wolfgang & Lorenzo Rogers, countless family and friends.

His sweet self will be remembered for his warm, compassionate spirit, endless ability to see the humorous side of life, his empathy, and acceptance of all people. Drawn always to encourage, and support the vulnerable and overwhelmed, he was the first to notice a need, quick to lend support, a shoulder & a hug or gentle word of comfort. Whether taking on the day with the two people he loved the most, Tajia & Surya or riding his Harley “Clyde” in his leathers, kayaking in front of Bayfield with his cat, or visiting Parker with a dog (Luigi/Sol), Douglas savored his life’s moments fully. He didn’t just walk the day’s sunshine hours, he loved on it, embraced it to the fullest – physically ate each day with his joyful curiosity and appreciation. He was an experienced wise seaman, and deeply respected by his customers, and fellow mariners. After his work day was done he had many pursuits. A talented musician he could drum for hours, had conquered the Ukulele, and was a voracious reader, highly artistic wood craftsman, lethal strategic chess player and an accomplished student of hot yoga. Fifty-seven years was not enough time to fully carve his path, but oh how far he got on that journey! We have been, and are so very proud of you Douglas. Always loved, rest in peace sweet boy. “It is the mark of a great man that he puts to flight all ordinary calculations. He is at once sublime and touching, childlike and of the race of giants.”  Honore de Balzac Private family funeral service was held.

A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, July 15, 2022 in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens.

Thank you for joining in on our shenanigans when Dru and I had such grand ideas and you joined in whole heartedly. Putting on plays/performances for your mom and dad as kids. Thank you for giving up your “Disco Sucks” T-shirt to me when you had to part with it and for being my other brother when we were young. Your life was well played. PS thank you for wearing Azzaro. My first intro to guy cologne. Amazing. Will see you down the road.
