Dylan left this world suddenly on April 11, 2019, leaving a hole in the hearts of all he touched. Dylan was born August 6, 1994 in Victoria BC at the Victoria General Hospital to his adoring parents Mike and Tina Toby. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Ken and Gloria Toby. Dylan is survived by his mother and father; Tina and Mike Toby; sister, Ashleigh; maternal grandparents, Roger and Sally Hemeon; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Dylan, a founding member of Husky Situations Drift Team, was an avid driver skilled on the track. His love of extreme sports started at six years old when his Dad bought him his first skateboard from Canadian Tire. He could be found at Vic West Skate Park hanging with his crew and mastering his skills. At 16 years old, Dylan was described as one of the best young skaters in Victoria, which culminated in a sponsorship by DC Shoes in addition to two other large companies. Dylan loved to play pool, watch and re-watch The Office and hang out with his friends. In addition to being an incredibly social guy, Dylan was also a loyal friend – the kind that would give you the shirt off his back to help if you were in need. He was known for his amazing sense of humour, which was very dry, sharp and witty. Dylan loved his tattoos and Harleys, but what was really the driving force behind his existence was the love he had for his family and his beloved French Bulldog, Brody. Dylan loved kids, the elderly, dogs and most of all his family. He will be missed terribly by so many.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made via https://www.gofundme.com/memorial-bench-for-dylan-toby&rcid=r01-155538080073-d4f0a0db44d147de&pc=ot_co_campmgmt_w towards a memorial bench to be erected at a later date in the Vic West Skate Park.

    Mike, Tina, and Ashleigh
I’m deeply sorry for your loss of Dylan. My heart goes out to each of you. As a young kid, Dylan convinced me to take him to the skate park on several occasions. But it didn’t take much, because even then I could see his talent and determination. He’ll always be with you in the memories you keep, the stories your family shares, and the laugh out loud moments that bring lightness to your heart.

Keeping you in my warmest thoughts,
    Sandra O

    Mike, Tina & Ashleigh,
I will miss Dylan popping by for his spontaneous visits, just to check on the neighbourhood. He had a connection here and we had a bond of shared memories. Dylan was always himself…. outgoing, warm, polite and with that endearing smile and sense of humour. Dylan was such a character, truly one of a kind, and he will always feel like a part of our family. So many will feel the hole that his passing leaves. We are profoundly sad for your enormous loss that no words can express.
    Love you guys,
    Jane & Frank, Lisa, Samantha
