Ed Bloom passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, with his loving spouse Pagone Praparattanapan at his side, after a lengthy struggle with kidney failure. He is survived by his brother, former wife, daughter and two grandchildren.

Born in Sheffield, England, he then moved to British Columbia where he was educated at U.B.C. and became a teacher. A man of the world, Ed travelled and worked in Malta, Bermuda, Peru, South America, Mexico and South EastAsia. His favourite destination, however, was Thailand, where in 1997, he met Pagone. Together, they returned to Victoria, BC in 2004 and were married. His many joys included Victoria’s beautiful waterfront, opera, reading, photography, gardening, travelling, and above all, energetic conversations and good times with his close circle of friends. He never failed to remind everybody how lucky he was having Pagone in his life.

Sincere thanks are extended to the amazing staff at Royal Jubilee’s Home Dialysis Clinic for all the care they provided throughout his illness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
