Wife of the late T. Lewin Moilliet, Eleanor passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2022. Born in Camrose Alberta…she is lovingly remembered by numerous families in Canada and Norway. Eleanor’s Grandmother and 2yr old mother, as immigrants from Norway, survived the ill-fated Empress of Ireland ship. This ship went down in 1914 (Halifax) with a great loss of life. Eleanor’s career path included her role as copy editor and writer with Victoria’s radio station CJVI and as secretary with the Ministry of Health for 23 years (her absolute dream career challenge).
At Eleanor’s request, there will be no service. Donations to the SPCA would be welcome. Burial will be on the grounds of St. Ann’s ancient log church, Parksville B.C. next to her beloved husband, Lewin. From Eleanor to everyone she knew and loved: Nil Desperandum and make yours a ‘kindness’ day.

My condolences to Eleanor’s family and friends. I will miss seeing and chatting with Eleanor at St. Luke’s on Sundays. We often chatted about her lovely outfits and I admired the colours she wore (purple, royal blue, and red), colours I love to wear as well. She was always smiling, so friendly, and appreciative when I dropped off things to her. One year she shared some Norwegian Christmas memories which we included in our parish magazine, The Prescription. I was surprised to read her obituary as I had seen her at St. Luke’s quite recently. God bless you, Eleanor. May you rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Eleanor Gene Moilliet, wife of T. Lewin Moilliet. The Moilliets were dear friends of my parents, Betty and Lewie E. Lunde, going back to the 1950s in Victoria, BC. Such a vivacious and gracious lady she will always be remembered by those who met and knew her. May she rest in peace with her beloved “Lew”.

By way of this note, I offer to Eleanor’s family, my sincere condolences on her passing. Eleanor was one of our St. Luke’s Cedar Hill family for many years. Eleanor was funny and always knew how to brighten one’s day. She was “classy” and was always impeccably and fashionably attired. We will miss Eleanor and wish her safe passage to The Great Beyond. May She Rest in Peace.

May I offer sincere and affectionate condolences to the families and friends of the lovely and gracious Eleanor Moilliet. During the years that Eleanor and I worked together at Radio Station CJVI, beginning in the early 1950’s, a pleasant friendship grew and now I am thinking of all we shared, the fun we had; so many memories of a special time. Eleanor and Lew were a wonderful couple and it is comforting to know that they are now together. Rest in peace, dear Miss Victoria. You represented our city with charm and elegance.
