Elizabeth slipped away peacefully on the 11th of February, 2019. She was born on the 22nd of February, 1927 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by her beloved daughter, Kay (Glen), Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Harry and their children, Kip (Lucinda), Deborah (Larry), Scott (Rose) and grandchildren.

Happily married for 70 years, Elizabeth and Harry moved from Edmonton to Victoria in 1978. Here Elizabeth delighted in the simple and good. Her greatest pleasures were times with her family, and our many pets, gardening, and the warm sunshine and view from her lovely home. Kind, gracious, thoughtful, and humorous, Elsie was a loving soul.  She will be remembered and missed by family and friends alike.

In lieu of flowers, plant a tree or send donations to support the work of the Salvation Army.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

As Kay’s mother-in-law from Australia I was only able to meet Elizabeth twice in 1999 and 2010. She was a sweet, caring and devoted mother and grandmother with a wonderful sense of humour and a gift for hospitality. In ’99 I was invited with Kay and Glen to Christmas dinner at Elizabeth and Harry’s home and it was a delightful occasion with Elizabeth’s culinary skills really on display. Later in 2010, we once more enjoyed Elizabeth and Harry’s hospitality both at their home and at another venue. Elizabeth was so happy to be with her young grand-daughter Katia at the time. I wish I could have been able to get to know Elizabeth better but distance prevented it.

I trust she is in a peaceful and happy place now…
I send my kindest wishes to all members of her family at this time.
    love from Jill Lovett.

We are so sorry for your loss. It was always a joy to see Elizabeth when we visited Glen and Kay. She taught me how to make proper scones, for which we are grateful. She was a delight in life and we are all thankful that we were able to meet and share a bit of her delight.

Condolences to the Wilson family. I only had the pleasure of meeting once while she visited Deborah in Castlegar. A long life was had and many memories. Elizabeth is in a better place and hopefully that hip of hers can work better. Love Sandi and Colin et al .
