Florence passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on May 8, 2017 at Royal Jubilee Hospital. Mother was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 28, 1920. She is survived by her children, Dan, Joy, Eleanor (Dave) Hogg and Paul (Marian). She is also survived by grandchildren, Carolyn and Christina Hogg and Emma, Ben and Julie Gillett. Mother was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Ernest George Gillett and her son, David.

She came to Victoria at age 13 and attended Oak Bay High School. After the premature death of her father in 1938, Mom trained at Sprott-Shaw and became a secretary. She took a job with the RCAF in Ottawa and there met Ernie, marrying in 1946. All of her children except for Paul were born in Ottawa. The family moved to Victoria in 1955. Mother and Father were long time members of the Central Baptist Church. Faith and family dominated Mother’s life.

At the request of Mom, there will be a graveside service for immediate family.
