January 12, 19-none-of-your-business – January 16, 2022

Florence, affectionately known as ‘Flossie”,  was born and raised in the Okanagan.  Florence moved to Victoria to pursue a career as an X-ray technician at St. Joseph’s.  While in training she met, then later married Garth.  Together they raised their five daughters: Gina, Simone, Adrienne, Marcia and Patryce.

While Flo’s career in Radiology was short, she found her way into modelling and was frequently seen in fashion shows and newspaper photo shoots for local department stores.

Flo’s interests were varied and many.  She was a voracious reader with a fascination for history, politics and a good mystery.  When not on a tennis court, golf course or in her garden she could be found penning her way through crossword puzzles while laying in wait for her next Skipbo victim.  Flo was a talented and welcoming hostess.  A lover of good stories, jokes, puns and limericks, she laughed easily and that laugh was as unique as she was.

In short, Flo loved life and lived it well.  She will be greatly missed by her extended family and a wide circle of friends.

A special heartfelt thanks to the teams at Hospice in Victoria for their extraordinary care of our much loved Mother.

No service shall be forthcoming as per Mom’s request.  Donations may be made in her memory to SPCA or Hospice Victoria.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

    Dear Walther Family,

While I only knew Flossie in person a short while and it was indeed a pleasure, her stories and love will live on through each of you and those who knew her.

Peace and blessings to each of you.
