François passed away peacefully, with family at his side at Oak Bay Lodge at the age of 89.  He will be lovingly remembered by Françoise, his wife of 66 years and his children, Maryvonne (Peter), Dominique (Andy), Philippe, Christine (Gary), Thérèse (Robb), Geneviève (Charles) along with his grandchildren Adrien (Brie), Alexis, Allistar, Carrie (Travis), Hannah, Natalie, Elyse, Kelvin, Trevor, Brendan, Diana and one great grandchild Harrison.  Predeceased by siblings Denise, Yvon, Guitic, Bernard and Anne-Marie.  He leaves behind his younger brother Jean-Baptiste (Hanne) in Victoria as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in France and Canada.

Born in Brittany, France, he immigrated to Victoria in 1956 where he, along with Françoise, settled and raised their family.  He spent many years working as a painter at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Victoria General Hospital.  François was an energetic charismatic man who worked hard to provide for his family.  The family will always cherish the many camping trips and Sundays spent at the beach or hiking.

Special thanks to Dr. G. Nielsen for his dedicated and compassionate care as well as all the staff at the Cridge Senior Centre and Oak Bay Lodge.

A Mass will be dedicated in François’s memory on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Eglise St. Jean Baptiste, 307 Richmond Avenue, Victoria, BC.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at a charity of your choice.

    Chere Francoise,
We were so sad to read of Frank’s passing. We remember you both as kind and welcoming neighbours on King’s Road and miss you still! Your husband was always cheerful, charming, quick to lend a hand (and very forgiving of my high school French)- the very definition of a good neighbour. Our sincerest sympathy to you and your family.
May happy memories bring you peace. Dieu te benisse.

    Hello Francoise,
You may or may not remember me. Your family allowed our Fr. Abraham group to make those perfect plywood boxes to be made & filled, then shipped out to India!! Your husband was a good carpenter as well! We worked with George Curran & Martha Fox and more. It was a good project!!
It is too bad that things just got too expensive. But St. Alphonse School got a good start from all that building, collecting & packing!! We now support a child through the “Chalice” program.
Thank you for being a good example!!!!
Frank Peters, my phone # is: 250-595-1539.

We were very sorry to hear of M. Quillevere’s passing. Our father, Maurice Pelletier, worked with Francois at St. Joseph’s hospital (Dad was the head gardener) and we knew the family for a number of years. I (Gisele) frequently ran into M. et Mme. in Safeway grocery store over the past few years. I will always remember him as a kind, friendly man who asked about our family. We send heartfelt condolences to all the family. Our brother, Gilles, passed away in 2013. This message comes from myself Gisele Pelletier McMillan and my sisters Michelle (Micheline) Pelletier and Marie Claire Pelletier.
