Bruce passed on at Victoria General Hospital on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.  He was predeceased by his parents, George and Ida McMorran; his beloved wife, Marjorie; his brothers Eric (Helen), Richard (Bev) and is survived by his brother David (Irene) and his many nieces and nephews.

He lived all of his 94 years in Cordova Bay except for time spent in pilot training with the RCAF.  He did not see action in WWII but was ready to do his part if called.

Bruce had tremendous vitality and the ability to work tirelessly in the garden he so loved.  He grew fruits, vegetables, flowers and erected fences to keep out the invading wildlife.   He enjoyed being in company and never turned down invitations to weddings, parties and all family occasions.   He was especially fond of his times at Shawnigan Lake where, as time went by, he watched young nieces and nephews grow and bring their own children to learn to swim.  Twice a year he travelled to Fairmont Hot Springs and connected with his Calgary family there.

As his life neared its end, Bruce was visited regularly by members of the family who offered comfort and assurance that he was not alone.

Bruce had a strong spirit and a passion for life.  He was generous, spontaneous, infuriating, and always interested in the lives of others.  He was everyone’s “Uncle Bruce” and he will be missed.

There will be no service, just a private family gathering to honour his memory.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.
