Beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away peacefully at Mount St. Mary Hospital surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his wife Filomena in 1993.  He leaves to mourn children Maria (David Avren), Joe, Rose (Al Ferraby); grandchildren Sam, Elizabeth and Jamie; sister Rosa (Giovanni Andali) in Sarnia Ontario; sister-in-law Amelia (Francesco Luchetta) in Rome Italy; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Giovanni was a kind and generous man who welcomed everyone with a ready smile. He will be dearly missed by all. The family would like to thank the staff at Mount St. Mary Hospital, St. Francis House for the loving care they gave him in the last eight months.

A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, November 9 at 7:00 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 10, at 1:00 pm in the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 4049 Gordon Head Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount St. Mary Hospital, 861 Fairfield Road, Victoria, BC V8V 5A9 or The BC Cancer Foundation, 2410 Lee Ave, Victoria, BC V8R 6V5.

    The most faithful man in the world, Hi would go to the Cemetery every day to go and stay for some time with is Wife Filomena .Hi never RI married, Gianni only loved Zia Filomena, I am is second oldest nipote. I remember zio Gianni as a 20 something good-looking man in our Village of San Giovanni in Fiore.I remember Zio taking us to the movie under is Manto, a large coat made od wools.And I remenbar that if any one was going to give us troble Zio Gianni would be at the door.Hi offerd us his home when we come to Canada .
