It is with deep sadness we announce that Gregory Charles Mason passed on December 21st, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Greg was a kind and gentle man, with great integrity and determination. Born in Regina, SK on October 1st, 1953, he was the son of a military father, and so moved every four years, making many friends along the way.

Upon graduating from high school, Greg attended Loyola College (now Concordia University) to study Communications. He interspersed his degree program with a year living and traveling throughout Turkey, Jordan, Syria, Iran, and Israel. Once he obtained his degree, Greg settled in Edmonton where he met his wife, Joanne Wilson.

Greg worked for CFRN as a television producer and later moved to do the same at CFTO, Toronto. It was in Toronto where their children Elizabeth, Anthony and Jonathan were born and where he and Joanne began their radio syndication company producing many radio shows including Street Corner, The Parent Report, Heart to Heart and others. In 1995, Greg and his family moved to Victoria, BC where he continued raising his family, running his company, pursuing his passion and talent in woodworking, and enjoying the beauty of the coast.

Greg is survived by his wife Joanne, his daughter Elizabeth (Kurt), son Jonathan, father Richard (Loretta), his siblings Kathy, Thomas (Jill) and Daniel (Akiko), and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, family and friends.

He was predeceased by their son Anthony and his mother Dorothy (nee Bedford).

With thanks to Drs. Nicol MacPherson, Peter Houghton, Diego Villa, Caroline Holloway and Hilary Wass, as well as the many other doctors, nurses and care providers along the way.

A small Celebration of Life was held in early January, but Greg can be kindly remembered with a donation to the BC Cancer Agency, Canadian Cancer Society, or Victoria Hospice.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.
