Harriet passed away peacefully at the age of 99 surrounded by love.  First and foremost, Harriet was a child of God.  She was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, memère, great-grandmother and friend.  Harriet was predeceased by her husband, Roland in 1988 and her 9-year-old son Paul in 1973.  She is survived by two sisters, Merilda Bélanger and Marie Lavallée who reside in Winnipeg.  She leaves to mourn her children, Marie (George), René (Andrée), Anita (Pierre), Louise, Bert (Meridee), Denise (Rod), Léo (Susan), Elaine (Dom) and eleven grandchildren, Joseph, Zoé, Louise (Dan), Christian (Marie), Bradley, Jesse, Rachelle (Earle), Brandon (Elyse), Nicholas (Jenny), April (Alex), Adam and her great-grandson, Easton, with numerous nieces and nephews.  Harriet was born in Selkirk, MB, and moved to Victoria, BC with her family in 1971.  She joined several clubs over the years, and enjoyed playing bridge with “the girls”.  She loved gardening and took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens.  Later in life, Harriet enjoyed the day program at Luther Court where she made new friends.  She was a kind, gentle soul, true to her faith and loved her family.  She will be sorely missed.  Our heartfelt thank you goes out to the team on 8-South Palliative Care at RJH for their kindness and compassion.

Prayers will be held at McCall Gardens, 4465 Falaise Drive at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 5, 2021 with Covid-19 protocols in place.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4040 Nelthorpe Drive at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 with a reception to follow.  Due to Covid-19, the Mass and Reception in the church hall will be restricted to immediate family and a few close friends.  Interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul would be greatly appreciated, 4353 West Saanich Road, Victoria, BC  V8Z 3E8 or https://www.ssvpvancouverisland.ca/
