It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mom, Wife and Nana. Heather passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side.

Heather was born in Moose Jaw, Sask. to Leonard and Ila Westrum and spent her early years growing up in Briercrest building lifelong friendships. After completing her BSc. in Nursing from the University of Saskatchewan, Heather moved to Victoria, BC and met her husband where together they raised their two daughters, making wonderful memories. Heather was a Public Health Nurse for 30 years and cared for many in the community when she saw the opportunity to help. She loved cooking family dinners, organizing celebrations, quilting, gardening, and keeping in touch with many of her dear friends. She was devoted to helping others and brought great pleasure in providing for her community, family and friends. Heather’s family gave her the greatest joy and purpose. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and her equally to them. Heather made sure every moment spent with them was memorable, filling their lives with never-ending love and laughter.

Heather was predeceased by her Mum and Dad. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 37 years Peter, and their daughters Lindsay (Bobby) and Brianna (Kielan) and her grandchildren Avery, Hudson, Attley and Hayden along with her brother Michael and his family, sister-in-law Judy and her family, her cousins Gaynor, Cheryl and many more family and close friends.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to their family and friends for all their love and support during this difficult time.

A private celebration of life was held on June 25, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens with immediate family and invited guests only in attendance.  All others were invited to attend virtually via Zoom by clicking the following link.

I was so sad to hear of Heather’s passing. I have fond memories of long chats as we worked together while I worked at Bayside and she was our Public Health nurse and then later as we met on walks around the neighborhood. Such a wonderful, loving lady. She is missed. Condolences to the family.

I just heard about Heather’s passing, I was heart broken. I worked with Heather over the years, she was always such a breath of fresh air. Kind, honest and always a smile. As a Social Worker she was one of the few nurses I could always rely on. We often saw each other on walks and would always connect and have a nice chat.
Please accept my condolences. She was truly a beautiful person.
