It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Allan (nee Hirst). Following a year-long battle with cancer, one that she handled with incredible grace and courage, Jacquie died peacefully at home on April 27, 2022.

Jacquie will be deeply missed by her husband of 44 years, Bryan; her son Benjamin and wife Katy; her daughter Dana and husband Adam; her four grandchildren Charlotte, Sybil, Brandon and Thea; and her sisters Sally and Elizabeth. She is predeceased by her father Billie Hirst and her mother Joyce.

Jacquie was born in Darwen, England on February 4, 1952 and moved with her family to Quesnel, BC in 1957. She was a Charter Student at the College of New Caledonia (Prince George) and upon graduation in 1971, she attended Simon Fraser University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973. Following this, she moved to Vancouver Island and pursued a career in accounting. In 1979, she successfully wrote the UFE and became a Chartered Accountant.

Jacquie was an incredibly selfless and generous person. She could always be found volunteering to chaperone her children’s sports teams, act as the treasurer for school programs or even take on the most tedious home improvement tasks for friends and family. Jacquie loved gardening, reading, and home design, but above all else, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
