Jim passed away peacefully in his sleep at home. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Cheryl, of 54 years; daughter Deb (Izaak); son Mike (Shannon); his grandchildren Luke, Amelia, Finley and Simone; as well as extended family members and friends.

Between 1967 and 1980, Jim raced super stock car #28 at Western Speedway. Back then, you could always find Jim working in his garage on the race car. In his retirement, he could still be found working in his garage restoring his panel-van affectionately named Rusty.

Jim was an extremely hard working electrician and he prided himself on the quality of his workmanship.  Jim loved working with his hands and he could fix anything; he really was a jack-of-all-trades.

His family meant everything to him. He was always helping out his kids, whether it was helping wire his son’s new home; helping repair a vehicle; or teaching his son-in-law to weld.

Jim and Cheryl loved RVing; they travelled across Canada and into 42 American States. Jim also enjoyed spending time camping with his family and friends on Vancouver Island.

Dear Cheryl, although we haven’t met for many years I still have such good memories of you and Jim. He was a fine person, and a wonderful role model for my kids, especially Murray.
I understand your grief as I too am a widow. I married a second time to a wonderful man, so I have nothing but good memories. I’m sure your thoughts of Jim will see you through too.
