With her usual grace, Jean slipped away peacefully in her sleep September 27, 2021. She was predeceased by George (dear husband of 63 years). She leaves behind her loving brother Henry (Christine), sisters-in law Joan and Sophie (Bob) and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Jean was born November 8,1935 in Victoria, attended Victoria High School and enjoyed a long career in the UVic Librarian’s office. In her early years Jean was a swim instructor (Chinatown Lion’s Club) and a member of the Victoria Chinese Girls Drill Team. Jean and George were avid campers and enjoyed many cruises throughout the world together. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many dear friends.

The family thanks the staff at The Heights at Mt. View for their thoughtful support and excellent care. A celebration of Jean’s time with us will be schedule when Covid19 protocols are further eased. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Jean’s memory to a charity of your choice.

Fond memories and condolences may be offered to the family below.

Jean was a very thoughtful and caring neighbour of mine for several years. When my husband passed away 6 years ago, she brought me some of her delicious meals to share and also her special almond cookies. Jean and George were valued members of our complex and they especially enjoyed participating in our annual summer garden social. I have fond memories of many interesting conversations with Jean. My sincere condolences to her family.
