Lorraine was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on August 25, 1938, and passed away peacefully in Victoria, BC on the morning of October 31, 2020. Her health declined steadily after Robert, her husband of almost 50 years, passed away on July 22, 2019. They are now together again. She is survived by her sons Christopher and Craig, daughter Pamela, sister Beverley, sister-in-law Norma and grandchildren, Julian and Alina.

Lorraine loved her family and was highly devoted to them. When her kids finished school, she joined Robert to manage their A Buck or Two! franchise for about 10 years before retiring. In her spare time, she was an avid crafter and enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting and shared her passion with many people, including other members of the Monterey Seniors Centre. Lorraine was also a skilled baker and brought delight to many with her cookies, pies and gingerbread houses. Lorraine will especially be remembered for her strong will and wry sense of humour and will be missed by all.

Due to COVID we have delayed Lorraine’s Celebration of Life until now and will be holding it on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria BC.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Our deepest condolences to Lorraine’s family, especially to Christopher, Craig and Pam for losing a wonderful mother. We have so many found memories of her, she was witty, kind and strong. She was good at cooking, baking and making crafts which we enjoyed. Her smiles and spirits will be remembered by all of us.

  • Norma Gauld

Lorraine was a great wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law and friend. Rob and Lorraine made a great team in marriage, in raising their three amazing children – Chris, Craig and Pam, in business and in just having fun. She will be greatly missed by so many friends and, of course, her family. Rest in peace, Lorraine.

I am having a tough time realizing I can’t call my dear dear sister every time I have something to ask her, or tell her or to share a giggle with. She named me before I was born; Mom prayed I’d be a blonde girl to complete Lorraine’s wish! She treated me like a dolly for years, dragging me along with her wherever she went. Dressing me in many of her own creations. I truly was the luckiest person to have such a perfect sister. I miss you very much, it’s very lonely without you.

Auntie Lorraine was not only an Auntie to me. She was my best friend, a role-model, confident, co-conspirator for fun. I would give anything for one last laugh or one more coffee and conversation. Rest well, sweet Auntie. Thank you for always being there, for all that you taught me. Many condolences to my cousins who I know are heartbroken. Her spirit and memory lives on in all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

We were so saddened to read of your Mom’s passing. Please accept our sincere sympathy that we extend to all the family. We will be in touch with Norma; her visits to Victoria over the years often involved us meeting up with Rob and Lorraine and keeping in touch with yourselves as a result. We always got a kick out you Mom’s sense of humour!

So many wonderful memories of Lorraine since meeting her 35 years ago. Enjoyed many Christmas Eve dinners to Celebrate Pam’s birthday, hiring me to work at the A Buck or Two, giving me time off to run off to Calgary to visit Pam, numerous car rides home, trips to Edmonton and Australia and helping with sewing projects. I will always remember her with a smile, cracking a joke followed by laughter. Until we meet again Lorraine ❤
