It is with deep sorrow that the family of Maria Reda announces her passing on October 8, 2018. Maria was predeceased by her husband Pasquale in 1990. She was born on November 7, 1918 in Carolei, Italy. Maria is survived by her 2 sons Alfonso (Cheryl) and Antonio (Katrina), 3 granddaughters, 4 great-granddaughters and 2 great-grandsons.

Maria was a hard-working wife and mother all her life and was the Fish and Chip Lady in Victoria West from 1966 to 1990. She loved looking after the neighbourhood school kids as they came to pick up fish and chips for their lunch.

She did this for 25 years and loved it. When Maria retired unwillingly she did not give up her love of cooking and spent many hours in the kitchen.

She always had time to teach the grandkids the Italian Culture and Language and now they are doing the same with their own children.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 4040 Nelthorpe Street, on October 13, 2018 at 11:30 am. Entombment to follow at Royal Oak Mausoleum.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the caring staff at Aberdeen Hospital for their loving care and attention to our Mother. We deeply appreciate it. You Truly Are Amazing!

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Elder Care Foundation https://gvef.org/donate/  would be greatly appreciated.
