Passed away peacefully at the age of 98, on June 20, 2022.  Born January 20, 1924 in Carolei, Cosenza, Italy.  Predeceased by her husband Saverio “John” Porco (1995).

Survived by daughters Jo Pagnotta and Ivana Porco, grandsons Tony and Robert Pagnotta, great- grandsons Nikolas and Noah Pagnotta, brother Silvio Romano, as well as nieces and nephews in Quebec, Ontario, New York and Italy.

In 1953, Maria and young daughter Giuseppina (Jo) travelled to join him. Soon after, they welcomed daughter Ivana. Together, Maria and John worked hard to make a good life in Canada.

Maria was kind, generous and loving, and she will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.

Many thanks to Dr. Ted Rosenberg and his team for their excellent care.  Special thanks to Maria‘s wonderful and loving caregivers Felisa Manlangit, Rosalie Villanueva, and Gina Espeja.
