It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie DeCicco (nee Curry) on Friday, January 6th, 2023. Marie passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Langford, BC, after a brave and hard-fought battle with cancer. Marie was born and raised in Victoria, BC, and was the eldest of six siblings. She is survived by her husband Lou, her three daughters, four step-children, 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Marie was a dedicated employee, working for 28 years at the provincial government in vital statistics. In her free time and after retirement, Marie enjoyed gardening, contributing to her church, travelling with her husband Lou, and spending time with her friends and family. She was also known for her love of preserving food from her and Lou’s garden. Marie was adored by many and will be deeply missed.

A service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC at 10:00 am on Monday, January 16th, 2023 followed by Entombment at Royal Oak Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation in Marie’s memory https://bccancerfoundation.com/donations

We will all miss Marie terribly. Marie was a very important member of our Worship Assembly. Every week she brought flowers, candles, and food.
Her attendance with Lou brought joy to all our events. Marie’s presence in supplying flowers to our service, always made the place look like a wedding banquet. Marie not only left a hole in our hearts, but a huge crater. Marie was the sunshine of our assembly. We take pleasure in knowing she is enjoying the presence of the Lord.
