HUNTER Mary Templeton (nee Reid), born August 24, 1923 in North Battleford, Sask., passed away peacefully December 30, 2003 at Cowichan Regional Hospital. Predeceased by her husband, John (Jack) Hunter in 1985, parents William and Lena Reid,and sisters Phyllis, Marion and Billy. Survived byson John (Donna) of Victoria, and daughter Janice (Stanley) Hermistan of Williams Lake. Five grandchildren, Angela (Anthony), Deana (Allen), Reid, Darren (Pamela), and Andra Lee (Vern) and her twelve great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn, her sister, Lori Weston of Vancouver and six nieces. She will be missed by her good friend and neighbor, Anne Campbell. Mom was a legal secretary for over 25 years and lived in Victoria until retiring with Jack in 1983,and moving to her home, Hunters Heights, on Lake Cowichan. She loved to sit on her veranda and look out at the lake.She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of March Meadows where she became the District Chairman for all the Ladies Clubs in her district. She also enjoyed playing crib and bridge with her friends May, Marion and June. She was a Past Matron to the Oak Bay Chapter #42 of the Eastern Star. Chapel, Johnson at Vancouver, on Thursday January 8 at 1:00 p.m. A tea will be held at the Lake Cowichan Legion Branch #210, on January 11 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations, if desired,to a charity of one’s choice. WHEN THE DAY SHALL COME THAT WE DO PART, IF MY LAST WORDS ARE NOT I LOVE YOU, YOU WILL KNOW IT WAS BECAUSE I DIDN’T HAVE TIME.
