It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend, Morris Irwin, in his 84th year. Morris was born in Tockholes, England and after his time in the Royal Army Medical Corps, began his profession in nursing and administration.

His work eventually brought him to Canada, along with his wife and children, to continue his career at a large hospital in Manitoba. After many successful years, Morris and his family decided to accept a position at Glendale Lodge Hospital here in Victoria, BC as Director of Nursing, and the family has been here ever since.

On top of his countless achievements in the medical field, Morris was an accomplished dancer, photographer, actor, and the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal in recognition of his giving to the community and the many lives he saved personally. Morris leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Elfriede, his children Alexandra, Jeffrey, his grandchildren Emily and Christopher.

He will be fondly remembered for his astounding sense of humor, razor-sharp wit, a strength of character, appreciation, and love of nature, and his genuine ability to solve whatever came his way, often to the betterment of those around him.

His Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 2: 00 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive.

The family kindly requests that any donations be made directly to the B.C. Cancer Society, 686 West Broadway, Suite 500, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 1G1.
