Norma also has various families in Canada, the USA and Hong Kong, Australia, Fiji & Europe. Norma has a large extended family and she would always look forward to the Kong Family Reunions. She worked for the Government of British Columbia for many years in various departments, including the Ministry of Mines & Resources. After retirement, Norma volunteered at the BC Government House Gardening Club, Canadian Cancer Society, and the BC Cancer Clinic at Royal Jubilee Hospital. Norma loved to cook, work in her garden, and enjoyed music by Barbra Streisand & Celine Dion. Her leisure activities included playing mahjong with her many friends and spending time with her grandchildren, who loved Grandma very much. Once a month luncheons with the ladies was another favorite pastime. A strong believer in her faith, she attended Saint Patrick’s Parish in Oak Bay regularly. A special thank you goes to the nurses & staff of 8 North at the Royal Jubilee Hospital for their heartfelt care with Norma in her last days.
A private service was held Thursday, April 29, 2021 by her loving family. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of British Columbia is greatly appreciated:
