Rob died peacefully on November 16, 2024 in Victoria, BC. He was born in Vancouver, BC. The family soon moved to Winnipeg where he grew to adulthood.
He is predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Addie, sisters-in-law Barbara and Esther and nephew David. Left to grieve his passing are his wife Anne, daughter Audrey (Ian), brother Grant, brother-in-law Harry, nephew Rob and niece Colleen (John), great nephew Bradley (Jenna), great niece Samantha (Henry) and their daughters, Jennifer and Jessica. He will be missed by many friends and neighbours.
Upon graduation from Ryerson Institute of Technology, he began work as an instrument engineer for Bailey Meter in Manitoba. He met his wife Anne in Pinawa, Manitoba, where she was a teacher and he was monitoring equipment at the AECL Whiteshell Nuclear Research Establishment.
Returning to Vancouver, he became an Industrial Instrumentation Instructor in the trades apprenticeship program at what is now B.C.I.T., instructing students until retirement.
He now had ample time for extensive travelling and spending his summers at his Gulf Island cottage. Here he will be remembered for his contribution to the community through his involvement with its water distribution system when not out fishing, boating, or monitoring all naval activity on Swanson Channel from his waterfront property.
A Celebration of Rob’s Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 2:00 pm.

Colin Haime Condolences to Anne and all of the Evans family. Rob was an outstanding member of the Trincomali neighbourhood. My father Bob spent many hours working with Rob on the water system and I believe that it was because of their friendship that he did it without hesitancy or complaint.
Rob will be missed.

Renee Desjardins Prayers and condolences from your Pender neighbours Renée and David. We carry fond memories and respect for Rob, and are deeply saddened by his death. In particular, Graham and Madeleine will always remember how Rob and Anne made their times at Pender so special. Anne, please know you and your family are in our prayers.

Melady Preece Rob and Anne were my summer neighbours in the Gulf Islands. I appreciated their kindness and friendly advice and support while renovating my home. It has been lonelier the past few years as they were unable to get to the island. I will always have fond memories of Rob puttering around in his workshop each morning and always having time to chat.

Suzanne Price I am very sorry to hear the sad news. Rob was one of the first people I met in trinco, while I was on one of my many walks with my dog Payton. He always had a smile and wanted us to come say hello while he was working in his yard along side Anne.
I have many fond memories of Rob from work parties in the early days at Trincomali. He was patient and kind with a young ‘city slicker’ and he always had a positive attitude. He was key member of the Trincomali community and he will be missed very much.
