Roger died peacefully in his sleep, with his wife by his side, on March 2, 2021 in Victoria, BC. He was born on March 29, 1936 in Bracebridge, Ontario. Survived by his wife Patricia of 58 years, children Linda (Lindsay), Michael (Steve) and grandchildren Megan (Dave) and Frans (Erin). Like all who had the good fortune to know and work with Roger I was saddened to learn of his passing as I had the good fortune to work with him and enjoy his humour, intellect and outstanding work. I was very proud of the success and quality of the broker training program Roger built and led. The end of workshop feedback was never less than superb. Few were as comfortable or polished as he was in front of a group as his presentation skills combined with his knowledge of insurance were top notch. One of the few regrets I had in leaving that division for the executive office was the loss of working with the talented managers there and Roger was one of those instrumental in our shared success.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Roger. He and Michael Doyle were frequent guests at the Abbey Guesthouse over the years. He entered our Seminary in 1955 and exited in 1958. He was a member of the Secular Franciscans and used to arrange for their retreats here. We are praying for him at the Poor Clares’ convent and at the Abbey/Seminary. May he rest in peace.
